Third EDUCA Doctoral Pilot workshop

Welcome to the third EDUCA Doctoral Pilot workshop January 22-23, 2026! 

EDUCA doctoral students are kindly asked to attend, but the event is not obligatory for supervisors, who are nonetheless more than welcome to attend if they would like.

Please register by November 28!

Here are the registration forms for the first day of the third workshop:

Anyone who is neither a doctoral student nor a supervisor may fill out the form for supervisors.

Please register for the first day of the 3^rd EDUCA Workshop by November 28th.

Please note that you must register separately for the next day at the Educa fair. EDUCA doctoral pilot students are expected to attend on Friday, while attendance on Saturday is optional.

Third EDUCA Doctoral Pilot Workshop Program

Thursday, January 22, 2026:

Location: Siltavuorenpenger 5 A, Helsinki, K2-floor Minerva Plaza (K226)

The program will be streamed between 10:15-11:30, 12:30-13:00 and 15:00-18:00 (streaming link)

10:15 Opening Words with Professor Minna Huotilainen

10:30 The Advantages and Pitfalls of Interdisciplinary Collaboration with Professor Minna Huotilainen

11:00 Examples of Interdisciplinary Collaboration with Dr. Laura Riuttanen and Dr. Elisa Vilhunen

11:30 Break for lunch (Self-funded, e.g., at Unicafe Olivia two floors up)

12:30 R2B & Intersector Collaboration with Viktória Balla

13:00 Meet your team and develop your own interdisciplinary research proposal

14:30 Coffee Break (Put a drink and snack on EDUCA’s tab at Unicafe Olivia)

15:00 Team Research Proposal Presentations

17:15 Research Proposal Voting and Awards

18:00 Dinner and drinks (self-funded) at Dong Bei Hu (Rauhankatu 15)

Friday, January 23, 2026:

Location: Helsinki Expo and Convention Center (Messuaukio 1)

EDUCA Doctoral Pilot students are expected to attend the Educa fair on Friday, January 23, 2026. Attendance on the second day of the fair (January 24th) is optional.

The Educa fair is free-of-charge and organized together with the teachers’ union Trade Union of Education (OAJ). It’s the perfect opportunity to network with stakeholders in the field of education and find secondments if you are still looking.
