Scalable digital technologies in learning and the school of the future
Our multidisciplinary research team explores the impact of the ongoing digital transformation in Finnish schools and society. Our complementary approaches in interconnected studies will model efficient ways of using technology in education. We are also exploring the constraining and moderating factors in blended and hybrid learning scenarios of future schooling to identify and support learning in authentic learning situations.
We will investigate variability in technology-enhanced learning and build next-generation AI-based models to support personalized individual and collaborative learning. We will also focus on linking AI and learning analytics to teachers' digital and pedagogical skills, and on influencing decision-making processes at the level of education policy makers to organize solutions for the future of school education.
The research area is led by Professor Mikko-Jussi Laakso, Professor Päivi Häkkinen and Associate Professor Piia Näykki. You will find all the researchers here.
